Anna Jordan - Artistic Director

Anna trained as an actor at LAMDA.  Fed up with being out of work she started writing her own parts, and has since gone from strength to strength as a playwright and director (although she has stopped writing her own parts).  Anna started WAP in 2006 and has since been writing, directing and producing.  Her plays include ShortStuff (Waterloo East Theatre 2011), BENDER (Old Red Lion 2010) and Marianne, (Wimbledon Studio Theatre 2010) which was developed on the Royal Court Playwriting Course and was on the longlist for the Bruntwood Royal Exchange Playwriting Prize.  Chicken Shop is currently in development and was in the final ten plays for the Verity Bargate award 2011 and was longlisted for the Bruntwood 2011. She directed a sell out run of Chris Urch's play Vote of No Confidence at Theatre503 in May 2011.

Just For Fun – Totally Random, a play about youth violence, showed at LAMDA and the New End Theatre, Hampstead as part of the Lost One Act Festival 2009 to critical acclaim, and it won the Best New Writing Award.  It featured with We Will Be Gone, a piece about the Chelsea Royal Hospital as part of a double bill called Youth & Age at Camden Peoples Theatre.  Anna's short play, Closer to God, won the Off Cut Festival 2009.  It also won the audience award, voted favourite in the festival by over 250 people.  Short plays include Bed of Foxgloves and Coming Home, both written for and performed at Theatre 503, and That Dark Place, written for Box of Tricks Word:Play 3. Anna recently directed a short piece called Polling Booth, also at Theatre 503. Anna has written for Playlist at 503 and also Hacked. 

Anna is a freelance drama tutor and works at Identity Drama School.  She met the fabulous Charlie Swallow while  she was resident director for several months at Stand Up Drama – London Bites.

Charlie Swallow - Creative Producer

Charlie trained at Central School of Speech and Drama on the BA Theatre Practice course. Since graduating Charlie has been working as a freelance producer and theatre director. For Stand up Drama she produced their monthly industry attended showcase called London Bites. Whilst working with Artists Anonymous she produced a range of writing, network and workshop events. Currently Charlie is the Creative Co Producer at Without a Paddle Theatre. Her most recent directing credits include Bed of Foxgloves by Anna Jordan, one of the short plays in ShortStuff (Waterloo East Theatre). Nothing by Jasmin Howard, a piece in the Theatre 503 Rapid Write Response Beasts. Past credits include Love Tricks with Stand Not Amazed (Soho Studio). Like This, But Not This by Katie Jackson (The Cockpit) AD on Marianne by Anna Jordan (The Wimbledon Studios).
