Current: WAP Actors Workout

WAP Workout for Professional Actors led by Anna Jordan.
Friday 24th Feb 2012, The T.R.A.P - 3 mins from London Bridge
10.30am - 6pm

Eight Actors - One Day.

AM: a proper physical and vocal warm up and a morning devouring brand new text especially selected for each actor in the group.

PM: An afternoon spent working on something you've bought. This could be an audition speech, something from a play you're working on, or just something you fancy trying! Even a song.

The small group ensures plenty of time to work. A brilliant way to get your creative brain and body working, attack some new text and flex your site reading muscles.

WAP Workshops provide a supportive and nurturing environment where all members are encouraged to give constructive feedback and support, so we learn by watching as well as doing. Its fine to try new things, fail, and make a bit of a knob of yourself in the process. In fact, it's positively encouraged!

£55 (or £45 if you have been to a WAP Actors Workshop before)

TO BOOK: Email info@withoutapaddletheatre.co.uk

"The workshop was highly enjoyable and useful... I felt comfortable to try things without the fear of being judged for getting it wrong. I'd definitely go back". Molly Small, Actor

"A thoroughly enjoyable day all round, both challenging and stimulating, whilst maintaining a relaxed atmosphere in which to work." Roger Woods, Actor

Nailing the One-Minute Monologue

As actors we are often required to demonstrate our talent and passion in a limited amount of time, sometimes just sixty little seconds. Throw nerves into the mix and it's quite a tall order, right? We hear you. Award-winning Without a Paddle Theatre has specially designed this three hour workshop to focus on nailing your one-minute monologue; looking at drawing the audience in immediately, being clear and dynamic, making brave and bold choices and showing your versatility  (yep - all in one minute).  The workshop will help peel away any bad audition habits you may have developed and get your speech into great shape.  And will work on redirection. And you will get to practice performing your speech in front of others in a nurturing and supportive environment. Result.

The workshop is led by Artistic Director of WAP, Anna Jordan, who has been specialising in audition technique for years. The three hour workshop is £25. Numbers are very limited as only eight actors in the group, so if you are interested email info@withoutapaddletheatre.co.uk as soon as those fingers will let you for more details.

"I have always thought that only certain people have the ability to write and that not everyone can have a go at it! I was totally inspired by the class and it made me feel like I could certainly have a very good go at it and that with time and effort I could produce something that maybe other people would want to see!... the class got me really fired up and motivated to want to get started!"

                                                      Helen Foster

“Your passion and enthusiasm helped me a great deal. The key learnings from me were to focus on clarity and to think outside the written word for inspiration. Oh, and to be braver.”
